Robin Hood Gardens, London

This project was commissioned by Dezeen in 2015, for their editorial on the future of the Robin Hood Gardens development in London. Completed in 1972, and designed by Alison and Peter Smithson, the estate is now considered one of the United Kingdom's most important examples of its genre of architecture.

A long running campaign by the Twentieth Century Society has sought to preserve the complex as a site of significant architectural importance. Since 2009, the UK government has blocked any form of official protection over the estate. In 2015 The Twentieth Century Society filed a new report, seeking to get the Smithson designed building official listed status. The preservation campaign had the support of major architects, such as Richard Rogers, Zaha Hadid and Toyo Ito.

In August 2015 a bid to achieved listed status failed, and the estate was scheduled for demolition.
