Maggie’s Manchester by Foster + Partners: ‘What matters is not to lose that joy of living in the fear of dying’
I was commissioned by The Architectural Review to document this beautiful calm project. The Maggie's Centres are a series of charitable architectural projects aimed at giving cancer sufferers a place to meet, talk and reflect away from the usual hospital environment.
Due to the obvious sensitivities in taking photographs in such an environment, I decided to photograph as much of this project without the bulk and interference of using a tripod.
Images published in AR Healthcare 2016 commended: architecture is deployed with great sensitivity to lift the spirits and help provide therapy.
